replacing windowsWindows and the Oregon Trail:

It is a with a sudden change of weather when you notice your windows. Yes, the old windows needed to be replaced when you first moved into this house some years ago, but that was something that would have to wait. Now, with every passing season, you notice more and more those drafty windows. How you would love to sit by the window while reading your favorite book, but just can’t handle the cold chill in the winter, or how it feels like you’re an ant under a magnifying glass in the summer. So what can replacing windows do for you?

Did you know that getting the right kind of new windows can block 80% of the summer heat from getting in your home and may block more than 95% of UV rays?

REPLACING WINDOWS WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY

While windows are not near as hot an item on the market as, let’s say, the latest iPhone, there is something to be said about the technology that has been put into windows. Did you know that getting the right kind of new windows can block 80% of the summer heat from getting in your home and may block more than 95% of UV rays? What about the winter when it is cold you might say. Well, with the right kind of windows, you may not need your heater near as much because new windows can keep the heat inside where it belongs.

FOR THOSE WHO LOVE TECHNOLOGY

Let me make this comparison. Back when I was riding the covered wagon to school (imagine Little House on the Prairie theme music here), we used DOS which is short for “Disk Operating System” With this program you had to put a 5 1/2 inch floppy disk into the computer then type commands into it to get it to do anything. Graphics, if it had any, were terrible.

I don’t think you are still using DOS to work on your computer. Is it time to upgrade your old drafty windows for something with a bit more modern technology in it?

I liked to play Oregon Trail but it wasn’t like video games today where you interact with the game and with your body motion like Xbox 360. No, it would give you a message like this, “your wagon wheel has just fallen off, your wife has malaria, you have no food or water, what would you like to do?” At this point you select your next move and so the game goes.

For those of you who remember this game, consider this, your windows are probably older than this game. I don’t think you are still using DOS to work on your computer. Is it time to upgrade your old drafty windows for something with a bit more modern technology in it? If this is you give me a holler at 806-622-4000 or schedule your free estimate, and I will show you what’s new in the replacement window industry.

It’s time we get off the Oregon Trail and on to the modern freeways by simply replacing windows!!
